Why We Got the ZOOMIES ♡
A true story about two little dogs, one big question, and a better way to groom.
It Started at Home
In 2020, during the pandemic, I became a fur-baby momma. When grooming was difficult to access, I learned to care for Saylor and Chewy’s coats myself.
They trusted me. They were comfortable. And most importantly, they weren’t afraid.
Something Didn’t Feel Right
When professional grooming became available again, I was happy to hand the job back to someone else.
Over the next year, I tried three different groomers. But I kept experiencing the same thing:
My dogs came home distraught.
Maybe the haircut was perfect. Maybe it wasn’t. I could live with that. What I couldn’t accept was seeing my dogs frightened by something that was supposed to be part of caring for them.
So I went back to grooming them myself.
Then I Started Asking Why
Why the kennels? Why the excessive restraints? Why the forced drying cages? Why hours at the grooming salon?
And most importantly — why should fear simply be accepted as part of grooming?
I didn’t want to build another grooming salon and do the same things a little better.
I wanted to build it differently.
So We Built It Differently. ♡
Zoomies was designed to reduce the things that caused so much stress in the first place — unnecessary kenneling, excessive restraint, harsh drying methods, long waits and hours away from home. In their place, we built an experience centered around patience, kindness, respect and the individual dog.
Home of Fear-Free Grooming
We are the Home of Fear-Free Grooming because we believe every dog should be cared for first. Then we can address their grooming needs.
And it all started because I wanted something better for two little dogs I loved.
But how your dog is treated is everything. ♡
